As the lead pastor of Joy Fellowship, Pastor Charles Jonathan Bennett is deeply committed to our mission: reaching children and families for Christ. Growing up as part of the founding family of Joy Fellowship, Jon brings a calm and practical approach to ministry, honoring the legacy of his father, who laid the church's foundation. While his father’s vibrant, powerful preaching style still graces the pulpit from time to time, Jon has built on this legacy with his own hands-on vision for Hopewell. Under his leadership, the church is known for hosting inclusive, community-centered events that are free for all, reflecting Jon’s heart for service and his understanding of Hopewell’s unique needs. Pastor Jon’s wife, Beverly Bennett, who previously served alongside him in children’s ministry, continues to lead this essential area, carrying forward their shared passion for nurturing faith in young hearts. Together, they are dedicated to creating a welcoming, supportive environment for families throughout the community.
Pastor Edwin Sierra is the unwavering foundation behind the scenes at Joy Fellowship, alongside his wife, Natalie. As head of church hospitality, Edwin and Natalie’s leadership keeps each service and event running smoothly, creating an atmosphere of warmth and belonging. A longtime member of the church, Edwin was trusted early on by Joy Fellowship’s founding pastor, who saw his servant heart and commitment to the church’s mission. He has become a crucial support to Pastor Jon, seamlessly bridging the church’s older traditions with Jon’s vision for new growth. Edwin’s unique blend of experience, commitment, and adaptability has been instrumental in helping the church embrace positive change, while remaining rooted in its original mission. Known for his steady presence, Pastor Edwin truly embodies the spirit of Joy Fellowship, keeping everything running in harmony for the benefit of the entire congregation.
Pastor Doug White, with his extensive background in business and public speaking, brings both practical insight and a joyful presence to Joy Fellowship. Although a recent addition to the pastoral team, Doug’s influence has already strengthened the church’s finances, community outreach, and missionary support. Doug initially connected with Joy Fellowship during the outdoor services in 2020, appreciating the community’s resilience and warm fellowship. Known for his traditional approach, Doug is also beloved for his lighthearted jokes, which brighten his messages and make his teachings relatable. His wife, Polly, leads the church choir, and together, they have become a cherished part of the Joy Fellowship family. Doug was officially welcomed as a pastor in 2023, when both an evangelical missionary and Pastor Jon recognized his natural pastoral gifts. Doug’s dedication to helping the church grow and thrive is matched only by his sense of humor and heart for service, making him a valuable guide and friend to the congregation.
